Can you bel did you see the all the photos from the event? Tons. my god, I'm so so so so just beaming still. Really? It was so fun for you, huh? I I just it was so amazing how the community came together and supported me. I did not expect that many people to show up at all. That is so cool. And did you see jazz? I saw Jazz, I saw Kaylee. Yeah. The family really stepped it up for me and all my friends too. It was amazing. That's that's amazing. Didn't ask for more. The weather was amazing and did you see how much stuff we gave away? Tons of stuff. Yeah. I le where'd you get all the shirts? We made My friend Chi had So you bought the shirts and then and then did the Yeah. And the funny part was I messed up. I got men's shirts and I got women's shirts. If you look at the pictures, it's so funny. I gave the women the men's shirts and the men's the women's shirts. well. So I got home and I looked in the mirror and I go, What the fuck? And I just started cracking up. Nobody cared. I kinda cared, but I got over it pretty fast. Did you have a chance to look at any of the episodes? Yeah. You watched them all? You watched them all from start to finish? I think so. Yeah. It's hard for me to know because I go it it's through Instagram. I also went to your page at one point. Mama, it's not through Instagram. It's now on Spotify and YouTube. Instagram is just clips. Well I don't know how to get there. I'll I'll send it to you. It's actually on YouTube. So when I released it on Saturday night, I had like several people send it send me pictures on s Saturday or sorry, I released it Friday night. I had several people send me pictures Saturday morning of like us on their big screen. I don't think I've seen the whole thing of the episodes. I've seen clips of the episodes. So the deal was, Mom I on Saturday morning I dropped the first three episodes. I was just using clips to tease them up until that point. So on Saturda on Saturday I actually dropped the first three episodes and then the party was the celebration. Got it. And how many subscribers do you have? A lot more since the other day. Yeah, so we had a raffle and I was giving tickets away for people who subscribe. So I had like ten at the start of the night, now I like seventy. If you gotta get to a thousand. No, I don't. That's not my goal is to get to a thousand. That would be so cool. I think I'll I think that'll happen naturally, Mom. You don't like the goal the goals aren't numbers. The goals are to build a community and have fun. Yeah, okay. And then those things will happen. Those things will happen or they won't happen. Who fucking cares, right? Right. And Jasmine Kaylee looked like she was helping a lot. Did Jasmine help? They both shined so much, Mom. They both I put Kay I put Kayleigh was so cute. I put Kaylee on registration and she was on the bake scale and then we had a raffle. I put them both in charge of helping give out tickets and stuff. And then we and when we had the raffle, Jasmine was Kaylee was pulling numbers and Jazzy was screaming out numbers and everybody was calling Jasmine the mini mouthpiece. And she Jasmine gave me an introduction. So what we what they did is Jasmine came out and was like, and now I present to you forty four X twenty. Let's do this. And then my friend Tin, he played like the first two minutes of the first episode, and then when after the intro I came out with a bullhorn. It was great. I got to be loud, Jasmine got to be loud. We were shining. Well, it looked like it was a lot of fun. It looked like you were having the best time ever. And I would say it was a big success. I mean, that's what pickleball does. Pickleball's like the best thing that's ever happened. It brings people together, it makes people happy. And that's why I'm doing it. Okay. Sounds cool. So ready to pronounce 44X20, let's get Of pickleball. We are so passionate about it. It brings us together and you know makes us do crazy things so we can play. So I want you guys to think about the places where you feel most like yourself. For us in this room, it's on a rectangle that's exactly 44 feet by 20 feet. Space so small that you're off Within minutes, you're laughing, you're competing and working together. And somehow all the usual barriers disappeared. I've played on corpse in Hawaii, in Mexico, in Maine, Washington, and all across my hometown of San Diego, California, from Vista to Chula Vista. And no matter where I go, the dimensions never change. 44 by 20. And somehow neither do the sounds. The laughter after a great point, the groans after a missed put away, and the conversations between games. I've shared the court with grandparents and grandchildren, married couples, best friends, fierce competitors and complete strangers. And most importantly, family. Love you, cousin Adam. It's not just a ball bouncing across a net. It's shared experiences. New friendships. Friendly rivalries, life lessons, moments of connection, the stories, the people, the community. This is 44X20. Ash, tell me about the first time that you played pickleball. the first time? it was a place called Big Rock in I think Santee. Anyways, in that area, Big Rock Park. And my sister's friend, yeah, my sister's no not my sister, my friend's sister, sorry, backward. My college friend's sister took me and like probably eight friends out to that park. And we did this some like big beginner clinic thing and afterwards we actually played. But the first time we played at Big Rock, the nets have like this really thick bar on the bottom. And I like ran it into the net and I had a huge like sh like bruise on my shin and it was like a tennis ball size, like turning around. So it didn't go well? It didn't go well the first time I played. So phone call from Michigan. So I had to find out where they played and it was only at Castle Creek or Melbourne. So I went to Castle Creek and it rained. So I was the only person there. Top of a hill looking down on the courts, gleaning in the rain, you know, and was like, you're a giant on a ping pong table. It was awesome. An old guy showed up, we hit some singles, explained the rules, came back the next day, and I've been there I was there every day that I didn't work for the next seven years. at the Rec Center? What rec center? And Nobel. Nobel Rex Center. Nobel Rec Center. How long ago was that? a yeah a year less than a year ago. What about two years ago. And where was the first time you played pickleball? What the first time I played was in La Mesita. First time I played pickleball? Yeah. I was like two years old. Seriously no. I don't know, three years, four years ago, my wife was pregnant and I was like, I'm gonna do pickleball. I've been hearing about it. She said, isn't it for old people? And I said, good, I'll dominate them. went to indoor indoor spots. I think Rancho Bernardo, Scripps Ranch. And then we branched out and created the CMR crew, And what's your favorite pickleball shot, Tony? I love the overhead smash. Body bag included. well, but Constellation Prize. Favorite shot, cross-court draw to your feet. Pop it up. BAM! My entire life I favored my backhand. You know, I grew up on a tennis court. pickleball, or of course, racquetball. Just just loved my backhand, you know, so. Yeah, everybody everybody has a strength and that's my my backhand bitch slap. It's at the kitchen. A backhand bitch slap at the kitchen. Can you do it off the bounce too? Like if someone hits yeah. yeah. Everybody unknown for that shot. I would say four hand chop down the middle. Yes, of course. I suck ass. Well I'm getting better. I don't have any signature shock. No signature shot yet? Okay, if you had a signature shot. Cross-court ding? Cross-cort ding. That's your signature shot? I I'm it will be. I used to be the lob, but now I hardly ever a lob. now I'm just like only playing singles for cardio. I say it's forehand passing shot. Forehand passing, okay. Ooh. Right now I think my backhand flakes are else. Thinking to the corner. Cross court thing. My favorite pickleball memory is My favorite pickleball memory. Does it have to have something to do with pickleball? No, just okay, so so it was with with our the Fairbrook crew, right? That a lot of the youngst and episodes. We play up there. So one day Sam went to the bathroom there, right? And we decided that one of us decided, Clyde, that he was gonna go and block the door. So when Sam was trying to get out of the bathroom, that he couldn't get out, right? I'm sure that happened to him a lot in high school. So we go down there and Clyde's at the wrong door. construction worker had been in there and there's this construction worker like banging on the door trying to get his way out and Clyde is blocking him, blocking him, blocking him. And we are laughing our asses off. And Sam's in the crapper next door going, What is going on out there? my god. we were in a tournament and down one game and down like six points and we came back and won. so many, but I you know, I met you and Sam at Fairbrook one day. Maybe hitting him in the nut. that guy. She called that one out for quite a while. Probably seeing Sam getting hit by the ball. Sam getting body bags competitive, but it's still fun. Yeah. Definitely. And you know, pickleball about fun, son, and friends. I guess I always have been since since it was a word. I feel pretty OG. pickleball rocks was the big the big slogan back in the day, and now we got pickleheads. Pickle turtles, I mean we got pickle unicorns, right? I became a picklehead when I realized that I'm doing a lot of regrowing in my body. Fixing bad stuff by and I had a lot of hurt and pain and I got through it all and now my body's in really good shape because of it. And so I'm a picklehead for life. When I play five days a week and the wife's like, Where are you at? Do you work or you play pickleball? When you told me four years ago. I haven't known you for four years. No, you have. It's like two and a half, three years. No, no, no. Four years. Fairbrook. When I deemed you a picklehead, you became a picklehead. You didn't know before? No, I didn't know before. Okay. Clyde. actually I think as soon as I started playing. Cause it was like 100 degrees and I was still out there drilling. I think the very beginning that's the first thing I could get better at and and have fun. So I think from the first time that we got on the court, it was my wife and I knew this was this is gonna be our new jam. I think when I bought my first real paddle, which was like the Carbon 1X. Tony, the best thing that pickleball gave me is a reason to get to the workday and have fun. Definitely the the friends and the pickleball community. a bunch of great people out there playing playing a great game. everybody's so nice and friendly. I like work I like working out, I like moving around. That's the fun part, and then I get to meet people, which is kind of cool. Good friends and I don't know what I'd be doing with my time if I didn't play so much pickleball. Same with me. People. You know, I should say the people. The stories. The sorries, yes. The stories, yes, yes. The first day I already had a lady tell me she was two hundred pounds and then she lose weight to one thirty and she looks great and then I'm like well everybody has some story behind it. I think it's the story, yeah. And the people are very nice. Stories. I thought she said the sorries. Sorry But also sorry always say sorry. It's lost. Never say sorry. I'm still saying sorry. If you play a tournament, don't say sorry. What's your favorite what's your favorite thing about playing with me? talk a lot. Shit. I I haven't heard that one yet. I'm fishing for compliments. I cannot focus on it. Everybody's saying the same thing about playing with me. We cannot focus. He's not he's too talkative. If you can't focus, I can't focus. But but but but but you definitely give me a lot of positive energy. I like it. Yeah. So That's all that matters, right? Yeah. The laughs. My energy. Me too. Yeah. do you remember the first time that you met me? before mitzvah playing with you, as I love playing singles with you. And you like beating me. I like beating you. I like I like you winning the first game 'cause you get a lot of confidence and then by the time we play our second or third game you're doubting playing pickleball ever again. That's true. Do you remember the first time you met me? Or the first couple times you met me? I remember there's like there's not usually that many younger people that or at least younger looking people like us. So I think that you know we were the same demographic. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't remember the exact moment, but my life has been forever changed ever since I met you. Do you remember? Do you remember what you thought of me when you first met me? not a lot. You were a dick. You're a dick. No, I'm just kidding. He's a he's a great guy. Everyone likes Sam. That's why he got ninety plus people here. I don't know what the final count is, but it was Pressure Actually you're very relaxing actually. That's to play with. That's the opposite of what everybody else is saying. No, but you're you're very calming. So it's good. It's getting it loud and like talk talking a lot. But I'm I mean everyone probably says that.
